WTF style Taekwondo is what you see in the Olympics. It is becoming an increasingly popular Martial Art after the UK success at the 2012 London Olympics. OTC, established in 2006, offers you the opportunity to train as an amateur or recreational athlete. Taekwondo improves your fitness, flexibility, strength and general body conditioning. You work as hard as you want but, as with any sport, you get out what you put in. Like any Martial Art you will develop discipline and mental strength. For children it is often the first step to getting out of the bullying cycle and developing a sense of self worth.
You can choose to train purely for fun and fitness or you can choose to compete at club, national, international, world or Olympic level. OTC have athletes who have aspired to all of these. Be aware that there are 2 styles of Taekwondo. WTF is the official style for the Olympics but in Wirral there are more ITF (UKTA/TAGB). This is an entirely different style but both have their origins in Korea.
OTC are fully registered with the British Taekwondo Control Board (BTCB) via the World Taekwondo Association (WTA) and fully insured. All students must be fully insured to train, grade and compete. We want you to develop a love of Taekwondo just as our seniors and Instructors have.
